Did you know I have over 40'000 hours of on the job handling challenging dogs. Thats hands on experience dealing with our canine friends in the home - spanning over a decade. There is little I haven't seen or dealt with and can work out very quickly what is going on. There is over 1600 - 5 star reviews to back this up.
My job is to analyse what is going on in the dogs and humans environment, to see what it is that is causing the friction and behavioural issues. Most clients are surprised and amazed how quickly things can be resolved when they follow their individual plan. The training does not need to involve veterinary medications that will dope out the dog or destroy their organs. A holistic approach involving calming behavioural techniques, appropriate nutrition and meeting the dogs needs for structure and consistency are just some of the ways we show you in a hands on approach. Not from behind a desk, computer or office, because if you do not have the hands on skill - how are you going to show you the client?
How do we Train?
We believe in developing mutual respect and trust with your dog. This is about you being a Leader, NOT an Alpha. We do not use fear based methods, we believe in you being the single most important thing in your dogs life, and teach you how to achieve this special bond. This does not mean we shove food in your dogs mouth every 2 seconds - there are plenty of ways to positively reinforce behaviours without doing this.
There is a time and place for food, just not all the time. We want your dog to have a personality, not create a robot. So, if you are ready to lead your dog and teach them about mutual respect and trust, then read our reviews and give us a call.
Our Team have all done external training to achieve qualifications and continue to update their skills via University, Vets Skill Courses and more to ensure you have the most up to date methods based on reward.
We use Fear Free Training
We promote and use FEAR FREE Training. What does that mean? There are lots of trainers who use methods to induce fear to achieve obedience and fix simple issues - such as;

Demanding punishment for mistakes

Hanging them in the air via a choke chain to get compliance in classes

Standing around them hitting them with pool noodles or hats in class for misbehaving

Throwing things like bags of marbles at dogs to scare them into stopping what they are doing

Yelling at them * Hitting them or their nose

Alpha rolling them into submission

Pinning them on the ground

Hitting them with a lead or riding crop

Raising a weapon (ie newspaper) to intimidate and other ways.
We will never request this of you.
The minute you raise a hand or threaten your partner, they lose all trust and respect in you. When you do this to your dog you break that sacred trust bond. How can you ever expect your dog to follow you and trust you, when you the human are incapable of emotional stability.
Choose to educate and show them, set rules and boundaries, learn to effectively manage yourself and your best mate, learn what to do and watch your relationship blossom in a positive way.

It is amazing how many times we get a client who no one else would or could help - and yet had they actually gotten to the root of the problem they could have. Instead offering death or medication for life.
There is no magic pill - Just hard work and dedication.
So just like Bhodi below who had several trainers and behaviourists and was told to be put down - we worked with him - and he is still alive and well and going out everyday with his mama.

Dog training behaviour modification means we provide you with Friendly Professional Dog Training in a group or in a home setting that will give you the skills to maintain a healthy relationship for you and your best friend. We give you the skills to get through puppy hood with the right advice and then on to train your dog in obedience for a well-mannered and well-behaved dog. No more jumping on strangers, pulling on the lead on walks or running riot through the house.
Our Dog Training will teach you the structure to gain control. These locations are from Vets, Schools, Tafes, Private Premises and also our own commercial facilities around SEQ. These Classes are private events not public ones and we restrict access to remain compliant with conditions and rules for each facility or location. The small profit we make from group classes compensates our ability to help those in real need. Which means we can offer more affordable pricing for new rescue dogs, our mental health assistance dogs and members we see sometimes in a tough spot. Our methods are reward based - we teach you how to build a relationship with your dog.
My Grandfather was a Dog Trainer and so was my Great Grandfather so its in my blood. I am always studying and am currently doing Canine Genetics - Canine Endocratic systems and Canine Micro Virology. This is all to increase what I can do for dogs and you the client.
As a qualified Cert IV trainer and Assessor and having now over 40'000 handling hours with dogs and also University Education, its peace of mind that Science Based Logical Dog training techniques are employed to get the best result. Never do we use techniques that are inhumane, harsh or cruel - but tailor our Dog Training to suit your dog as it's as individual as you are.
Our Group Class Profits
The small amount of Profit that is made from full fee paying clients in Group classes is used to assist in training rescue dogs that are newly adopted in their fureva home.
We have a variety of specials for these special dogs in Puppy schools or Manners Classes. On average we were donating about $20k a year in our time, discounted rates and items to rescues and yet we never were able to make a dent. So we shifted our model. Now we target the newly adopted dog to make sure they stay in their fureva home.
So why did we shift the business from the rescues themselves? After over a decade of trying in the end they are run by human volunteers with lots of amazing people who want to help dogs. The problem is that with any group there is politics and other issues associated with it which significantly impair my ability to really have an effect to improve dogs lives.
My whole goal and my passion is to keep a dog and family safe and too many rescues I have dealt with are quite happy to rehome dangerous dogs.
So by directing knowledge and skill directly at its source in the new home I can help to ensure the dogs stay in their new homes where it will truly be appreciated.

Some get a Harder Start
After working in the pet industry for so long I have seen first hand what a lack of control and structure, and a lack of love and cognitive stimulation can do to a dog and their family. By helping families regain their confidence and ability to enhance the relationship with their dog, we create a happy dog - a happy family - and less of our furkids going to shelters.
When I work with a variety of dogs, some of them are more fearful than others, so in helping them to rehabilitate and live their life to the fullest is the greatest gift I can give them.

Having been diagnosed with extreme ADHD just over a year ago answers a lot of questions for me. But it also means I am more able to assist those who are Neuro Spicy because I get it. I understand the challenges, I understand the melt downs. And I have that unique perspective to keep it all running without discrimination or harassment in any form. So this part of our business is call Sensor Dogs. We train you to train your dog up and are able then to provide the PAT test, not just for QLD but because every state is different in its requirements, we cover them all off.
